Spelling Bee Practice

Kawartha Heights Public School students joined residents of St. Joseph’s at Fleming for an inter-generational spelling study session on Friday (April 29) in advance of the 2016 Rotary Spelling Bee.

Kaleigh Clow and Jailea MacDonald joined Jackie Moore and Pat Lathangue for a quick practice session at the Peterborough retirement home. The students will participate in the junior division of the fifth-annual Rotary Club of Peterborough Spelling Bee on Saturday (May 7), while Moore and Lathange will take part in the Senior Spelling Bee on Tuesday (May 3).

More than 40 schools will be represented at the weekend competition as nearly 80 students vie for prizes like Apple iPads or digital cameras.
