Accreditation for St. Joseph’s at Fleming celebrated

A celebrity barbecue was held Thursday at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Brealey Dr. in the city’s southwest end to celebrate the long-term-care home’s team receiving the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities three-year award for Person-Centred Long-Term Care Community.
The accreditation is valid to May 2021.
The event included opening remarks and a cake cutting ceremony. About 600 staff, residents, volunteers and families attended the celebration.
Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services in the following areas:

•One-Stop Career Centers
•Vision Rehabilitation Services
•DMEPOS (Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies)
