Annual Satisfaction Survey
We are pleased to announce that the Resident and Family/Caregiver Satisfaction Surveys will be sent out November 5, 2026. The feedback received through these surveys is an important part of our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care and services. Responses help us identify what we are doing well and where we can focus our improvement efforts to better meet the needs and expectations of residents and their families.
Resident Satisfaction Survey
Resident Satisfaction Surveys will be made available to residents within the home. 2nd year Nursing students from Trent University will be available to assist residents in accessing and completing the survey if needed while ensuring that responses remain confidential and voluntary.
Family/Caregiver Satisfaction Survey
Family and caregiver surveys will be distributed electronically via email beginning November 5, 2026. We encourage all family members and caregivers to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their experiences and suggestions. The survey will be open for 3 weeks and will close November 26th.
Participation in the surveys is voluntary; however, we strongly encourage everyone to take part. Honest feedback helps us celebrate successes, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen the quality of care and services provided within our home. We thank all residents, families, and caregivers in advance for their participation and valuable input. Survey results will be reviewed by the leadership team and shared in aggregate form, along with any improvement initiatives that result from the feedback received.
If you have any questions regarding the surveys, please contact Daniel Preston (dpreston@sjfltc.com). Thank you for helping us continue to improve the resident experience.
Operation Christmas Child – Spread Joy this Christmas!
This holiday season, we are proud to support Operation Christmas Child, a charitable initiative that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world who may otherwise go without a Christmas gift. Each shoebox is packed with fun toys, school supplies, personal care items, and other small gifts to bring joy and share the spirit of Christmas. This year, we are putting together shoeboxes and invite our residents, families, and staff to help make these gifts extra special!
Donation boxes are set up across from the reception desk, where you can drop off toys and other suitable items. If you would like to fill an entire shoebox yourself, additional boxes are available at reception. Gift suggestions are posted beside the shoeboxes to help inspire your donations.
Please bring all donations by November 19th. Thank you for helping us spread kindness, hope, and Christmas cheer to children around the world!
Important Allergy Information
To protect the health and safety of everyone in our home, lilies, lavender, and strongly scented products (i.e. perfumes, colognes) are not permitted in the building due to the risk of severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reactions. Staff, visitors, and residents must avoid bringing or wearing these items, including scented personal products and floral arrangements. Any prohibited items brought into the home will be removed immediately. Thank you for helping maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Enjoy Our Activity Spaces Together
A friendly reminder that each home area has a resident activity room stocked with supplies for everyone to enjoy. Families and visitors are always welcome to use these materials while spending time together, and many of these activities may also appeal to children and grandchildren during visits. We kindly ask that all items are returned when finished so everyone can continue to enjoy them. We also have a games lounge on the first floor (located by the vending machines) with a variety of games and activities available for all to enjoy!
